Stories of the Heart
A Christmas Short Story Collection
J. Adams

A Season of Miracles, Simeon's Hands, A Winter Miracle, and A Most Precious Gift are four of the best Christmas short stories I have read.  From A Season of Miracles with orphaned Elijah who learns about forgiveness and unconditional love, to Simeon's Hands where you will learn about sacrifice, talents, loving one another, and knowing the Savior your heart will be filled.   Then there's A Winter Miracle where Andrew learns from Kenna and Matthew what happens when you make choices good or bad and the consequences, about prayer, listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and what a Good Samaritan is and finally, my favorite, A Most Precious Gift, a sweet heartwarming story about Gabriel.  You will learn the true meaning of pure, unselfish Christ-like love.
Each story reminded me of something special.  A Season of Miracles reminded me of a beautiful song "You're not Alone" by Michael McLean.  You’re not alone, even when you’re feeling on your own, You are loved in ways that can’t be shown; your needs are known;  You’re not alone.  And when you cry, you’re just letting go of heartache deep inside, And tomorrow there’ll be sunshine and sky and love close by; you’re not alone.  And we know that it’s not easy, but we know that it won’t last, ’cause one that loves you more than me is sending blessings fast.  You’re not alone, say it one more time, “I’m not alone,” And even when it’s hard to find the words, our prayers are heard; we’re not alone.  You’re not alone.
Simon's Hands reminded me of the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 9:7. Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].
A Winter Miracle reminded me of the beautiful story in the scriptures of the Good Samaritan found in Luke 10:20-37.
And finally, A Most Precious Gift can only remind you of the greatest sacrifice of all and the beautiful Primary song "Love One Another".

I recommend this beautiful little book to all ages.  It would make a perfect Christmas gift; stocking stuffer or even a Christmas card to someone you really love and care for.
