Where's My Hair?

As I sat in my stylist chair, I looked forward to having my hair done.  Other than grocery shopping, this was my favorite way to spend my time and just take a deep breath and relax.  I didn't have grandkids, daughters or husband with me.  This was my time. I took a deep breath and prepared to enjoy this much needed rest and relaxation period when Debra asked me, "Been sick lately"?  Well, actually I had.  She could tell.  "And look your hair is thinning here in the front".  I had noticed this some time back and was concerned I was going bald.  Now how would that make me look?  A short, round, bald 59 year old woman.  Isn't that what everyone wants to see?  How would my husband feel being married to someone like that?  I remember him telling me when we first got married 39 years ago that if I ever got fat he would divorce me.  Well we're still married.  Of course that could be the result of his gaining several pounds over the years himself.  Anyway, back to the point.  I asked what could be causing the thinning of my hair.  "Well, stress for one thing.  Any stress in your life."  I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.  No way.  There's no stress in my life.  My life is entirely stressed free.

Home is the place where boys and girls first learn how to limit their wishes, abide by rules, and consider the rights and needs of others.

Anyone out there have a 15 going on 16 year old teenager who thinks they know it all?  If you don't believe it, just ask them.
The Instigator

How about  the sweetest, most angelic, brown eyed 9 old who is the biggest instigator in the whole wide world.
Miss P

Then there's the 4 going on 5 blonde, blue-eyed imp with the sweetest smile ever who was vaccinated with a phonograph needle and couldn't stop talking if her life depended on it.
Anai

Let's not forget the dark curly brown haired, brown-eyed 3 year old terror on two legs with a sparkling personality and the ability to make every face on earth, who will look you in the eye and say, "My face will freeze like this".
Emi

Last but not least there's the 10 month old doll baby with straight dark brown hair and huge brown eyes who has been walking since she was 8 months old, puts everything in her mouth she gets her tiny little hands on, has learned to drive you crazy by learning to climb the stairs, and throw herself on the floor and throw a temper tantrum.

Come to think of it, all of the above are good at throwing temper tantrums.  Just at their different age levels.

Next, let's discuss their parents.  On second thought, let's say we did and don't.  Suffice it to say, what stories I could tell.

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible -- the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.

Stressful?  Hectic?  Tension filled?  Absolutely.  Why?  They all live with me.  We are talking 5 adults, 5 children in a very small 3 bedroom condominium-less than 1000 square feet.  Would I have it any other way?  Absolutely not!  This is my family and that is what family is all about.  Yes, my condo is small and I only have one bathroom, but what about Noah living in the ark with not only his family but all those animals for 40 days and 40 nights.  Or Lehi and his family in a boat they built without windows for almost a year and the stress and strife that they went through.  If they could live under those circumstances, then I can certainly live in this tiny condo with all the conveniences that I have and put up with the occasional bickering fussing and fighting that goes on. Am I blessed?  You bet I am!  More blessed than you will ever know.  My point is that you don't have to pull your hair out due to stress, frustration, strife or tension.  According to my hair dresser it will just fall out on its own.  So save yourself the extra work and time of pulling your hair out.  Let it fall out on its own.
